Read through once before your first injection. Keep this guide nearby for the first week or two — most subscribers don't need to reference it after that. If anything feels off, message your prescribing physician through your account.
Refrigerate between 2–8°C (36–46°F) at all times. Protect from light by keeping the pen in the original case. Do not freeze. A short period at room temperature during travel is fine — use the temperature-protected case for trips longer than a day.
The full sequence takes about 30 seconds once you're familiar with the pen. Many subscribers do it while making morning coffee.
Soap and water. Then clean the injection site — abdomen (at least 2 inches from the navel) or front of the thigh — with an alcohol swab. Let it dry completely.
Remove the cap. The solution should be clear and colorless to pale yellow. Don't use the pen if the solution is cloudy, discolored, or contains particles — message the pharmacy instead.
Use a new sterile needle every time. Twist on, remove both caps. Save the outer cap — you'll re-use it to remove the needle safely.
Turn the dial to your prescribed number of units (1 unit = 3.33 mg NAD+). Double-check the dose appears in the window before continuing.
Pinch the skin slightly. Insert the needle at a 45–90° angle. Depress the plunger smoothly until the dial returns to zero. Rushing can cause stinging.
Keep the needle in place so the full dose absorbs and to minimize leakage. Then remove the needle in one smooth motion.
Use the outer cap to twist off the needle into the sharps pouch. Replace the pen cap and return the pen to refrigeration.
Do not share your pen. Each pen is for single-patient use only. Always use a new sterile needle for each injection — even if it's been minutes since your last one.
Resume your regular schedule at the next planned dose. Do not double up. If you've missed multiple doses, message your physician — they may want to adjust your titration.
A small drop of fluid at the injection site after removing the needle is normal. Holding the needle in place for 10–15 seconds minimizes this. If you see a noticeable amount, message us — it may indicate a technique adjustment.
Use the temperature-protected case to keep the pen at 2–8°C (36–46°F). When flying, keep the pen in your carry-on — not checked luggage. Bring your prescription label or a screenshot from your account for TSA if asked.

Used pens and needles go into the FDA-cleared sharps disposal pouch that shipped with your kit. When the pouch is full, follow your local pharmacy or health-department instructions — most pharmacies accept full sharps containers for safe disposal at no charge.
Never throw loose needles or used pens in regular household trash. Needle-stick injuries can transmit infection — the sharps pouch protects sanitation workers as well as you.
Your physician approves your dose, the pen ships cold-chain, and you'll have this guide in hand when it arrives.
